Kate Thompson

Kate is a co-founder of The Family Narrative. For 8 years she has run a successful, full-time photography business based out of Richmond, VA working with commercial, family, and wedding clients. She’s never been a loud voice in the industry but has been described as a “stealthy photo ninja” on multiple occasions. She’s an introvert, an Enneagram 5, a mom of two, and is deeply passionate about helping photographers set up businesses that work for them. Kate recently launched her educational site, Learn With Betty, where she helps other photographers adopt a mindset of letting go and build businesses that run efficiently without requiring constant hustle (or burnout). She believes our businesses can be ever-evolving things that feed us both personally and professionally … as long as we’re strategic about longevity and planning ahead. She co-runs a small creative studio with her sister Anna called Palindrome Creative Co. When she’s not working, you can find her spending time with family, cooking, hiking, reading, or tending to her backyard beehives.
