Colie James

Colie James has never been accused of being a quiet person and her art is a reflection of this, loud and playful.  She is a family filmmaker and newborn photographer based outside Boulder, Colorado since 2012. But she didn’t come to Colorado willingly, her husband dragged her ass there while she kicked and screamed the entire way. She would rather eat glass than admit to him it was the best decision in their almost 20 years of marriage.  She is currently navigating the waters of COVID supervising remote learning for her 10-year-old daughter Chloe. She is definitely putting those education degrees into practice. All three of them are Leos, there is a lot of eye-rolling in their household.

In addition to making art that reflects the reality of parenthood, she created her educational site, Documenting Parenthood, to help family photographers build up their own businesses. Tacos and martinis bring her almost as much joy as her morning coffee + Disneyland.
